[edit] Magic

  • The Christian church faces a great challenge of soccerers winning the heart of the people. The Gamiban President Yahya Abdul Aziz Jemus Junkun Jammeh has continued having healing sessions and miracle cures for diseases like HIV/AIDS, TB, infertility, etc. These are televised nationally and frequently to the whole population of the Gambia. In one of the last televised sessions he was even conducting a deliverance session. He claims that his power for these are from the Koran, traditional medicine and God. Many quarters are giving him accreditation for these acts, even though some western media have also been castigating him. However, the people are confused and there need to be a distinct Divine visitation to separate Simon the Soccerer from the real Gospel. The media cannot freely access what is happening.

  • Little effort has ever been directed at reaching the Muslim majority. May the freedom to witness continue.

Malnourished children get good food, mothers and carers learn about a balanced diet, a vegetable garden be established, some local people are trained in caring for the sick and others trained in gardening. Through all of this Christian values are taught and evangelism done on a one-to-one basis as relationships are built up.
  • The main focus in on the Mandinka, Wolof, Fula and Jola peoples.
